Caves

For cave lovers there are special opportunities near Casa Bosco. The caves of Monte Cucco are just over half an hour away. The entrance to these caves is not at the bottom of the mountain, but near the summit! You first drive up the mountain to the altitude of 1,100 meters. From that point you walk up the mountain, through the woods for 2 kilometers, with a guide. Then you descend, via iron stairs, into the depths of the caves. There are 3 different tours: a walking tour from 2 to 3 hours until halfway the mountain and back again, a walking tour of 4 to 5 hours through the whole mountain and an adventurous tour, outside the fixed paths, of about 5 hours. For the real cavers, on request, there are special tours deep into the mountain!

But there are more beautiful caves in the Marche. An hour’s drive from Casa Bosco you will find the caves of Frasassi in the beautiful Gola della Rossa Natural Park. These caves are among the largest in Europe and are breathtaking. Here, too, there are various possibilities. There is a walking tour of about 75 minutes, but also two adventurous climbing tours in full uniform (overall, helmet and boots). You will get dirty!
